On June 12, 2025<\/strong>, Dr. Sompong Raksatham<\/strong>, Acting President of Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University (NSTRU)<\/strong>, together with Asst. Prof. Dr. Somrak Rodcharoen<\/strong>, Vice President for Research and Information Technology, Asst. Prof. Dr. Surin Thongthot<\/strong>, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, deputy deans, representatives from the Office of Academic Resources and Information Technology, and staff from the Division of International Strategy and Relations, held a collaboration meeting<\/strong> with executives from Chengdu University<\/strong>, People\u2019s Republic of China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chengdu University delegation was led by Prof. Dr. Bai Yang<\/strong>, Dean of the College of Foreign Languages and Culture; Prof. Dr. Yang Xi<\/strong>, Deputy Dean of the College of Foreign Languages and Culture; Dr. Zhan Jingyi<\/strong>, Head of the International Department of the same college; and Ms. Jiratchaya Namwong<\/strong>, Lecturer in the Thai Studies Department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both universities discussed and agreed to strengthen academic and cultural cooperation in four key areas<\/strong> as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Research Collaboration<\/strong> \u2014 Joint research initiatives on the Southern Economic Corridor and local cultural capital, focusing on Nang Talung<\/em> (shadow puppetry), Manora<\/em> dance, Nielloware<\/em>, and other unique cultural heritages of Nakhon Si Thammarat and Southern Thailand. Chengdu University will assign researchers from three units \u2014 the Thai Studies Institute<\/strong>, the Southeast Asian Cultural Center<\/strong>, and the Intangible Cultural Heritage Center<\/strong> \u2014 covering disciplines such as product design, linguistics, culture, and AI technology.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Exchange Programs<\/strong> \u2014 Student and staff exchange between NSTRU and Chengdu University, including:\n
