NSTRU Holds Academic Collaboration Meeting with Chengdu University, People’s Republic of China

On October 17, 2024, at 9:00 a.m., the executives of Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University (NSTRU), led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wichai Waenpetch, Chairman of the University Council, warmly welcomed and held an academic collaboration meeting with a delegation from Chengdu University, People’s Republic of China.

The Chengdu University delegation was led by Prof. Liu Qiang, Secretary of the Communist Party Committee of Chengdu University, and consisted of six members, including Mr. Ye Ansheng, Director of the Undergraduate Office; Mr. Li Jian, Director of the Office of International Affairs; Mr. Li Min, Dean of the Teachers College; Mr. Ran Yisong, Director of the Office of International Affairs of the Chinese and ASEAN Arts College; and Prof. Chaphiporn Kiattikhachatharn, Director of the Thai Education and Cultural Exchange Center at Chengdu University.

During the meeting, both universities discussed various academic collaboration initiatives to enhance internationalization and strengthen bilateral relations. Key discussion topics included:

  • Establishment of the Chengdu University Center at NSTRU
  • Development of joint postgraduate programs (Master’s and Doctoral levels) between NSTRU Graduate School and the Faculty of Education, Chengdu University
  • Creation of joint or dual-degree programs (2+2 or 3+1) in Chinese as a Foreign Language
  • Research and academic collaboration across various disciplines
  • Cultural exchange programs and student internship exchanges between the two universities

Following the meeting, the Chengdu University delegation visited the Sukhachart Nangka Shadow Puppet Museum to explore future cooperation in arts and cultural heritage preservation, aiming to promote intangible cultural heritage and foster further academic and cultural collaboration between the institutions.
